What Makes Us Different

Learn4Life helps students who need options in education and an adult who helps them through the process. Our teachers take the time to understand each student, and then tailor his or her education to meet their specific needs. This is our proven model of personalized learning, flexibility, one-on-one attention and workforce readiness programs. Each step of the way, we work to remove all obstacles in the way of a student’s high school diploma and life success. We offer more than a diploma. With career and life skills, we help prepare each student with courage and confidence for life beyond high school.

Why Learn4Life

We know that a one-size-fits-all school model does not work for all students. Students have different learning styles and obstacles that prohibit them from attending or succeeding in a traditional school model. These challenges can include credit deficiencies, special ed., pregnancy, parenting, foster youth, homelessness, working to support siblings/parents, working in a rural community without transportation or aged out of the traditional system. These get in the way of being able to attend school five days a week and are adding daily to the national epidemic our country faces of 1.2 million dropouts a year.

What Makes Us Different

We help students succeed when the traditional high school model does not work for them. Many students have to work, some are teen parents, others have to care for family members and some just want to get away from the traditional school model that has not changed in decades. Whatever the reason, we offer a free and innovative approach focused on personalized learning.

How it all Started

Our founders were concerned about the dropout rate in their local community of Lancaster, California. So, rather than ignoring the problem, they decided to do something about it. They got together with other local businesspeople and began researching why students were not in school. They discovered that many of the students had obstacles that prohibited them from going to school five days a week. The founders took away all of the obstacles and matched them with solutions for success – thus Personalized Learning through a blended-learning model (much like a university) was developed! From one center serving 30 students in 2001, we grew to become a strong, positive force. Today, Learn4Life is pioneering the way education is delivered.

To understand the passion of everyone at Learn4Life, take a minute to explore the stories of our courageous learners we encounter every day. It takes courage to go back to school when you face the obstacles that the majority of our students face. Poverty, housing insecurity, foster care, pregnancy, abuse, neglect and other life challenges make it impossible at times to attend school and be engaged. But when our students reach our doors, there is always a glimmer of hope, and our educators strive to ignite that hope, foster it and watch our students flourish. Our learning center staff members become positive constants in our students’ lives, embracing them as individuals and inspiring them to excel. We ensure that the adversity our students face evolves into resiliency and advancement of character.
