Learn4Life’s board members all have strong ties in Edgewood and nearby communities. Their backgrounds are diverse and bring a vast array of education leadership, business acumen and passion for improving schools for all students, regardless of background. We have a former foster child, a charter school graduate, a onetime Department of Education presidential appointee and high achievers in business, management, operations, human resources, school administration, journalism and real estate. Chad J. Humphrey is an experienced educator and operations executive with more than 20 years of experience as a decorated Marine Corps officer. Humphrey has deep experience developing and executing strategic plans in the government, public, commercial and nonprofit sectors working with senior executives. Since 2009, he has managed the Defense English Language Program worldwide with oversight of the Defense Language Institute English Language Center. Humphrey has a master’s degree in military operational art and science from Air University and a bachelor’s in speech communication and political science from Oregon State University.
Karen Lopez Rolirad is an executive with 20 years of experience developing policy and leading strategic planning efforts for multi-million-dollar civilian and military institutions. She is an award-winning military strategist and intelligence leader who has served on the UTSA Center for Military Families Advisory Board and as the president of the AFCEA Education Foundation. Rolirad has a master’s degree in strategic studies from Air War College, a master’s in strategic intelligence from Joint Military Intelligence College, a master’s in engineering systems management from St. Mary’s University and a bachelor’s in English from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
Larry Davis, President Health & Nutrition Brenntag America’s started his career at Brenntag North America in 2017 as Director of Marketing Food & Nutrition. He brings 26 years of sales management, general management and executive management experience for leading companies in the specialty and fine ingredients distribution market place. He is a seasoned professional with practical experience and solid understanding of diverse business management applications including P&L management, market analysis, sales & marketing, operations, administration, team-building and budgeting.
Michelle Rae Lewis is a Real Estate Broker with over 27 years of experience. She is a third generation professional Realtor. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Management and an additional degree in Business Finance, Real Estate & Law from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is an active community leader and encourages education and community involvement thru numerous youth organizations. She has been awarded the 2019 Community Service Award by her peers. When she is away from work and volunteering commitments she competes in showing horses, rodeo events and USTA tennis competitions.
